Quick Quotes
Q. Shin Yu Liu, great day for you, 2-under, 3-under overall, top 5. Talk about how today went and being in that position heading into the weekend.
HSIN YU LU: Yeah, I would say it was a solid round. I didn't really go aggressive with my putting, but I wish I did. I did a really good job with my irons and approach shots to the green. I think I played the right strategy, and I did the numbers pretty well.
Q. This is your second time here. How has that helped having that experience?
HSIN YU LU: I definitely learned something from the course last year, and I have a local caddie this year, and he definitely helped me a lot with like local knowledge. I just really leaned on him with my second shots, like distance wise.
Q. Missed the cut last year, obviously making it this year. Tell me about what you learned from that and what it means to be able to make the cut this year and play in the final round on Saturday?
HSIN YU LU: I think for last year because it was my first time I was too excited and nervous about it, and since this tournament is so big, it's like the biggest tournament in women's amateur, but this year I'm trying to be more confident about myself. It's more about myself than the tournament, so I think I did that pretty well the first two rounds.
Q. Practice round obviously tomorrow at Augusta National. What are you going to try to do there to prep yourself for Saturday?
HSIN YU LU: I think I'm going to look at the course and see what's the condition right now, but I heard the greens are going to be really tough. But mostly I'm going to enjoy myself at Augusta.
Q. Is there a hole in particular that you enjoy at Augusta National?
HSIN YU LU: Yeah, a lot of people say they love 12, but I love 13. I love Azalea all the way on the left. It's beautiful.
Q. Saturday a ton of patrons will be out there. What are you most looking forward to about that final round?
HSIN YU LU: I'm just going to try my best and work really hard and try to do the best I can and see what I can shoot.
Q. Family and friends out here supporting you? What's your crew that's with you?
HSIN YU LU: So my dad flew all the way from Taiwan this week, and my aunt actually flew from in Texas, and her entire family flew over here, too, and my swing coach's family is here, and some of my friends are coming, too.
Q. You've got a big group behind you. Did you have that same group last year?
HSIN YU LU: Yeah, yeah. They're big supporters. They always have my back. I'm really grateful to have them always with me.
Q. What does it mean especially for your dad? He took the longest route to get here. What does it mean to have him here supporting you?
HSIN YU LU: It's really special because since I was younger I've always been in Taiwan, and he spent most of his time with me like 24/7. Since I'm out in college he's not there anymore. These events make it special to bring him with me beside me and watch me play.
Q. What's his advice for you this weekend?
HSIN YU LU: Do my best, and he said, I've got your back, just do your best and look forward.
