Quick Quotes
Q. Only one bogey on the card on this very interesting day here with the up and down weather. Not what we expect out of California weather. Feel a little like home?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, a lot. Yeah, it did. I mean, it was really cold before I tee'd off and the course is really, really wet. It's playing extra long. I played pretty well. Very, very steady. Really sad to like bogey the last hole because I really wanted bogey-free, but a very steady start.
Q. A very steady start. Take me through the birdies on card today, especially being able to fight off the difficult whether conditions?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I had a reachable par-5, 3-wood into just off the green, and my chipping was really solid today. Got up and down quite a lot, and that's what avoided the bogeys for me.
Then another birdie came on my front nine, which is -- I tee'd off 10, the back nine. Just a wedge in and holed the putt, so I was just really steady and not a lot going wrong.
Yeah, just happy with my round. Hopefully keep it going.
Q. To be able to come off last week and carry this momentum to a completely different course than in Phoenix...
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, it was.
Q. What does that mean to you to keep the momentum going?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, it's a very different golf course, very different layout and setup. The grass is very different as well. I came in with a little confidence and just really happy that I managed to have a good first round and keep it going.
I feel I'm in a very good position golf and mentally and physically, so just try and keep it up.
Q. When you were coming into Palos Verdes, it's different than a lot of other courses that we'll see, a lot hillier. What was your preparation like to take on the stamina of this course?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I only played nine and nine, so I kind of had Monday off as well. Coming in a little bit fresh, which is nice, especially after last week. Mentally Sunday was a tough day.
And like I said, it's very wet, so not easy to walk up the hills either. You got to be a little bit careful. It's very, very hilly and very tight in places, which suits me and suits my tee shots.
Q. To be able to do what you did last week, I know it wasn't the result you wanted, but how much is that motivation into the next swing of events?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I played in four events so far and like I've had really good results and steady results, being in contention a couple times. I think I've started this year pretty strong.
Just trying to keep it going, sticking to myself and working on what I feel I need to improve on. Just being patient out there.
Q. What will you be working on heading into tomorrow?
GEORGIA HALL: I think go to the range for 20 minutes, and also work on line putting, because the greens we have are very, very bobbling, especially in the afternoon. They get very soft. It's very easy to think it's your stroke and you're misreading putts, and it's just very hard greens.
It's very important to focus on my line and hit a good putt, and whatever happens from there, happens.
