Quick Quotes
Q. Third time is a charm, making the cut here at the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Last year you were in a playoff, ended harshly. This year you're moving on. Last few holes coming down the stretch, I'm sure you're thinking about it. How were the last few holes for you?
AMANDA SAMBACH: Definitely full of nerves. I think on the par-3, No. 8 -- well, No. 7, I guess, I put it in the middle of the fairway, I was like, let's just par out, that's all we need to do. Had about 85 yards, adrenaline was pumping, put it on the top tier, had a really fast putt down the hill, made like a five-footer for par. Went to the next tee, that's a nerve-racking shot. Hit a pretty solid shot to like 12 feet past the hole, kind of lagged it in there. Last hole was pretty nervous just trying to make par. Overall a pretty stressful day, but it was worth it for sure.
Q. Talk about your caddie who was with you last year, here again with you this year. How did he help get you through this day?
AMANDA SAMBACH: Yeah, I mean, he's the best. All of his numbers are perfect. Every single number -- we hit it on the number every time, so it was awesome. Just his composure on the course, like he's just so calm and comforting, and when I made a bogey, he'd just be like, there are lots of opportunities out there. It was really nice.
Q. Where did you first meet Rusty?
AMANDA SAMBACH: I got him randomly last year, and just kind of built a relationship with him. He texts me before every college event, and we keep in touch, so it's nice.
Q. With such a massive stage and now you get to play this practice round tomorrow, knowing what's in store for you for the championship round, how do you go into this one differently as you've done the last two years knowing that that's your only opportunity to play?
AMANDA SAMBACH: I mean, the past two years have obviously been unbelievable, just to play Augusta National is such an opportunity, but I think tomorrow will be a different feeling for sure. Instead of just like whacking balls around, it'll be nice to really take it all in and pay attention to everything.
