Quick Quotes
Q. Tell us a little bit what you feel coming into this tournament and ranked 17 in the world.
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I feel great. I'm thankful because I have the opportunity to play this course, that it's in wonderful condition, and I hope to play at Augusta National the last day.
So I'm very grateful, and I just came here to have fun and just try to win. So tomorrow I'm going to try to play my best golf. That's everything.
Q. Tell us a little bit about this process. Like since you received your invitation until now, in this practice round.
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I try to do the same thing that I usually do because, if it works like that, why change it? I just practiced with my coach in Spain and with my father.
I don't know, everything like the same I used to do it, but I think I'm playing good now. So I want to play, and I look forward to it.
Q. What's the thing that excites you the most about being here and playing Augusta National?
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I think the fact that they treat us really good and everything is super good, like qualified, I think you say. I'm just having really fun. Today we're having dinner at Augusta National, so I'm looking forward to that.
The course is amazing. It's in perfect condition. If this course is like that, I don't know how it's going to be at Augusta National. So I'm just looking forward to that.
Q. You got to play in two pro events last year, and you even finished top five in one of the Ladies European Tour tournaments. How was that experience, and what did you learn from that that you think can help you throughout this week?
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I learned a lot, and I think the most important is how to play with public and how to handle the pressure. So I'm very grateful that I could play in the professionals, and they have taught me a lot. So I hope I can use it in this tournament and play like I play.
Q. You're going to play with Rose Zhang and with Saki Baba, two really important amateur players. Have you played with them before? How do you feel about this?
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I haven't played before with them, but I'm super excited. I think I cannot be with a better group tomorrow.
So I'm just going to have fun and try to learn from them, and I hope they learn from me too because I think I'm a good amateur too.
Yeah, just looking forward to play with them and to talk with them. Rose Zhang is at Stanford, and one of the Spanish girls is going there too. So I'm going to ask her some things. As I said, I hope to learn from them a lot.
Q. What has been the most special thing since you arrived, like anything in particular you can think about that has caught your eye?
CAYETANA FERNANDEZ GARCIA-POGGIO: I think how they treat us, as I said before. They treat us like, I don't know, like all the staff that works here that knows your name and treats you really good. So I think it's one of the best things that came.
And everything is so (indiscernible). So I'm just really happy. Thank you to all the volunteers and the people that's working for this to go good.
