Quick Quotes
Q. Into the semifinals, but you were 2-down after two. Describe your fight back to get into Sunday's play.
SAM BURNS: Yeah, MacKenzie made a long putt on 1 and chipped in on 2, and all of a sudden you're 2-down. I think we knew, we just kept playing our game and stuck to our strategy and I was able to birdie 4 and 5 and get myself back in it. I'm pretty tired right now, so looking forward to getting some sleep tonight.
Q. Bit of a slow start to your season. What part of your game has taken the biggest leap forward this week?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, I think my coach Brad pool and I have worked really hard on my golf swing the last few weeks, and for us, it's just trying to stack one good swing after another, and not really look too far in the future.
I think we've put a lot of hard work in, and it's nice to see it showing on the golf course.
Q. MacKenzie threw a couple haymakers at you on the first couple holes, but you rallied, making the turn, never let him catch up. Give us your thoughts on the win.
SAM BURNS: Yeah, that's kind of the nature of match play. You just kind of have to weather the storm sometimes, and he got off to a fantastic start there birdieing the first two holes, and we just kind of kept scratching and clawing and got ourselves back in it. I hit a lot of really good shots today and was able to come out on the good side.
Q. At 7 you make that 52-footer, and you win that hole, and then at 10, another 27-footer, you were rolling the rock.
SAM BURNS: Yeah, I think sometimes in match play you have the advantage of putting first. To make a 50-whatever-footer was nice with him in there close. I think that can kind of change the momentum of a round. Yeah, looking forward to tomorrow.
