Q. Taylor, every match play is a little bit unique, but you make birdies at 5, 6, 7, go 2-up in the match, and then from 8 on in you and Shane Lowry tie every hole. You end up winning on the 17 green, 2 & 1.

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: I really didn't notice that we tied every hole from 8 on. I don't know, I felt like he had an advantage on some holes and he didn't capitalize. And then I had some advantages and I didn't capitalize.

So it was more like a pillow fight the whole match. (Laughter.)

Q. Pillow fight between two heavy weights if you want to call it that. Couple long hitters. Taylor, what's your approach to match play? Your first taste of this championship, do you play it different from stroke play? What was your strategy coming in?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: I played a lot of match play matches growing up as a kid, and definitely different than stroke play.

It's like you're trying to close out a tournament every single shot basically, and there is just a lot of like swings that you feel.

I don't know, I'm happy I won my first match.
