Pregame Press Conference
Q. What are you expecting to see out of Mexico today?
DREW SPENCER: Some very hard-hit baseballs, good pitching and a team that's going to be hungry and want to attack. I think they want to make sure they put themselves in a good position. We're expecting them to be on the attack and looking to hunt and probably ambush as well.
Q. What mindset will your team have going into the game tonight?
DREW SPENCER: Same one we've had every game.
Q. It's been 24 hours since the historic moment. Have yourself and your coaches and your team managed to see the outpour of love that's come from the UK. Do you let them see this, or do you let it pass by for this game and let them play this game more normally?
DREW SPENCER: I think a lot of the hype we've kept away from them. Well, I wouldn't say we've kept it away from them, but we haven't gone out of our way to show it to them because you start celebrating yesterday instead of looking at today and what we need to do.
But the two that I think there were two particular that we made sure they saw. One was obviously St George's primary and the kid walking in with the best Harry Ford impression I've ever seen. That was just absolutely great.
And then also the Brit baseball pod. I think seeing that, another little kid inspired by the tea celebration, I think for them to see the impact they're having on children was worthy of them considering.
But as for the rest of it, they'll find it in their own time. There will be plenty of time to go recap the highs and the lows of this tournament and to make the most of that.
Q. How are the arms going into this game?
DREW SPENCER: We've got a lot of guys fresh. There's a lot of guys fresh, a lot of guys ready to go. I'm feeling pretty confident about pitching-wise what we're going to be able to do today.
