Q. I heard the horn saved you yesterday?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Oh, yeah.

Q. Explain that.

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, I would have, I don't think I would have made the cut the way I was feeling and kind of swinging yesterday. I don't know, it was just one of those days where I felt really weird. Then you get down on yourself you're like will I ever find it. I mean, I was hitting it so bad. My short game saved me yesterday dramatically. Then woke up this morning and I was 2-over, I thought the cut was going to be at 1-over. I played my last four holes 3-under. So it was a good finish to a bad round.

Q. And then came out and played good this afternoon.

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, I actually hit it where I was trying to today. It makes the game a lot easier.

Q. Could you talk about how different the course played all day. I mean, there is still some wind but, I mean, it looks gettable.

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: It was very gettable. If you could make those like 15-, 20-footers and position your ball correctly in the fairways then you could definitely get after it. The greens were soft and receptive. It was a completely different golf course after the rain.

Q. A lot more fun?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah (laughing.)

Q. What did you hit at 17?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: I hit a 52. But I kind of wanted to put it off my back foot and like take a little spin off, if I could. So I teed it a little higher and probably hit it a little higher off the face so it didn't spin back. Like if I hit a spinny one I feel like it could hit into that slope and, yeah, spin back into the water.

Q. We can't know what they're going to do coming in, but do you feel like you sort of have a chance here?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, you never know around this golf course. Especially, who knows, they might turn on the SubAir and roll the greens a couple times, they could be back to the way they were round 1 and 2.

Q. You would expect that though, right? I mean that it would be harder for the last day?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Yeah, it will definitely be harder tomorrow.

Q. Being your first one, I mean, there's a lot of excitement to it, but there's also a lot at stake. How did you come into this week? Any expectations whatsoever?

TAYLOR MONTGOMERY: Really the only expectations I have and try to live by is to try my hardest. But it becomes tough. I mean, you're out there for so long it's such an emotional roller coaster out there. But I felt like today I really controlled my thoughts well the whole day. I didn't get amped on 17. Which normally you can get pretty amped and fired up. So I did a really good job of controlling all of the emotions and stuff.
