WOMEN'S AMATEUR ASIA-PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

March 11, 2023

Tong An

Quick Quotes

Q. Can you talk us through your round today, please.

TONG AN: I had a bogey on the 1st. I made a three-putt. That's very sad to see. My putting was very good today. Not as good as yesterday. I made six birdies and an eagle on the second round. Today I had only two birdies which was all on the back nine. I would say the best one I played is definitely hole number 18. I've made two birdies in a row or two bogeys in a row from day one and day two. Today I changed my strategy and I'm glad that I finally made a birdie. So I'm happy overall.

Q. Can you talk us through what happened on the 18th?

TONG AN: Yeah, I had a good drive. I could have made my approach to the green, but I chose to lay it up. I hit a 6-iron to 90 or 100 yards. Then I hit a really good approach shot nine feet left and I made that putt.

Q. Any other holes that stood out to you?

TONG AN: I had a really good par save on hole No. 16. I missed the green and I didn't chip it well, but I finally made the putt.

Q. So what are you working on this afternoon going into the final day?

TONG AN: Definitely putting and driving.

Q. Are you feeling confident?

TONG AN: I would say, although I'm feeling physically and mentally a little exhausted, but tomorrow I'll definitely go all out and I definitely don't want to leave any regrets here because this is my first appearance here.
