Quick Quotes
Q. I believe that today was the first time anyone from Vietnam has ever made the cut at the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific. How does that make you feel?
XUAN KHUE MINH DOAN: It feels really special to represent my own country in the prestigious R&A Championship in Asia-Pacific. It's already an honour and making the cut as well, I'm over the moon. I'm so excited for tomorrow and the next day.
Q. Could you talk us through your round today?
XUAN KHUE MINH DOAN: Coming into the round, the cut line was my score, so I was just going in and thinking, just play my best. Whatever happens, I'm still proud of myself. And because I have my mom with me, and she was encouraging me from the centre line, it gave me the motivation to keep going.
I was 2-over I think through the first six holes, and then I got a few birdies running and putts kept dropping. Eventually, I played really well.
Q. Could you talk us through those birdies today?
XUAN KHUE MINH DOAN: I had one on the 18th hole, I believe, and I holed a putt from about 20 feet. It was very pumping. I was just like, let's go. The momentum was there and I was like let's keep going.
Then I had one on the third and one on the fourth, they were both short approaches, about a flag length, I believe, and then I rolled them in.
Then I had a double after that, but that's fine. It's okay.
Q. What's your plan for the weekend?
XUAN KHUE MINH DOAN: I'm just going to play my best tomorrow and the next day, as well. I still have two more rounds to go. The championship hasn't finished yet. I want to finish as best as I can. It's my second time here at the Women's Amateur Asia-Pacific, and I want to make my mark as a Vietnamese golfer.
Q. Is there anything you're going to be working on before tomorrow?
XUAN KHUE MINH DOAN: Just get my rest in today. I knew today would be a really rough day. It was raining, then it was sunny for a bit. Yeah, just getting my rest in, and easing my mind for tomorrow.
