Q. How difficult was the rough out there?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: The rough was very thick. I think it's not crazy, crazy long. I'm sure we'll see longer stuff at maybe the U.S. Open. It may have even been longer last week, but this week I would say is as healthy as I've seen. You have a little bit of Bermuda in there, and then with the overseed it's extremely thick.

Q. Was it a battle for you?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: No. Golf never really feels easy, sadly. I wish it felt easier a little bit more often. I feel like today was a bit of a battle. I did a good job of hitting some good shots on the front nine, and I didn't make a ton of putts, and then it was good -- sorry, my front nine, the back nine. Then we made the turn, I started seeing some putts go in and definitely happy with how I finished.

Q. Are you going to spend some time this afternoon watching TV to see what other people do?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Probably not.

Q. Are you surprised to see somebody jump out so low and shoot 64, or is it gettable? Is it out there?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Obviously it's out there; somebody did it. So I would not say that I'm extremely surprised. I think this is one of those places when you're hitting the ball really well and getting the ball in position, there's a lot of birdies to be had, but as you start to miss fairways and get out of position, it can go the opposite way very quickly.

So I don't anticipate someone shooting 8-under every day and finishing at 32 this week. I think the scores are kind of going to ebb and flow, and we'll see what happens. But definitely happy with how I played today.

Q. The last five weeks I think the three of you guys have created traded the No. 1 spot like three times, whatever. Do you ever think about that, that group when you're out there, look around like you know we're supposed to be the best in the world? Does it cross your mind at all? Does it just feel like work? Do you just feel like playing golf is too hard to worry about that?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I think golf is hard enough as it is. Yeah, it was just a fun pairing. I like playing golf with both those guys. Jon's a fantastic guy and Rory is as well. So it was just enjoyable being out there with those guys. We had a nice crowd out there today, so that was a lot of fun. When good things happened it was nice to hear a couple roars.
