THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP

March 9, 2023

Justin Suh

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

TPC Sawgrass

Quick Quotes

Q. Justin, you go to sleep having about 28 feet for eagle on the 16th. Talk about what's led up to this point for you today.

JUSTIN SUH: Just good quality shots. Starting from the beginning, it was tough. The wind was kind of variable. It wasn't too windy in the beginning, so we kind of had to figure out where it was coming from, but overall I thought me and my caddie, we executed the right numbers.

We picked our spots really well out on the golf course today.

On 16, we just have a putt from the middle of the green. I think we're just going to get a feel for how fast it is in the morning and try to finish off strong.

Q. You mentioned this is your first time on property this week and you took the day off on Monday, as well. Really this being the third day you've seen the golf course, you've adjusted pretty quickly. What is it about it that you've seemed to enjoy so far?

JUSTIN SUH: Just keeping it simple. When I played at Honda I didn't even see the Bear Trap for my practice rounds because our pro-am ran a little bit late. Overall I don't think our process has changed at all. Me and my caddie, we've got it pretty dialed what we want to do on the golf course, and he's seen it, so he's able to give me confident numbers, and good sight lines just to look at.

I think overall we've got a good system going out on the golf course.

Q. In a way it's kind of like ignorance is bliss in a way, you're just coming out here for the first time and just experiencing it for what it is?

JUSTIN SUH: Yeah, a little bit. I've definitely seen the holes this week. I just played nine on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I guess I haven't seen it as much as most people, but I think we've got a good gist of where the trouble is, where we want our tee shots and approach shots to end up. I think we've got a good feel of the golf course.

Q. How would you characterize your form coming into this week, especially as we've kind of moved into the Florida Swing?

JUSTIN SUH: I'd say my ball-striking has gotten a little bit better than since the start of the 2023 season. I think gradually we've started to hit it better and get better numbers.

Yeah, I'd say it's in a good spot. I'd say it's been trending up in the last few events, which is nice, especially at this time of the year for tournaments.

But overall I'd say we're pretty confident with our game, and I think we just kind of have to take it day by day and keep executing shots.
