Quick Quotes
Q. I hate to make you repeat what you just said twice so far, but great opening, bogey-free, 5-under 65. Just a few comments on the keys to the round.
JOSEPH BRAMLETT: Yeah, I thought my speed on the greens was the biggest thing I took away from today. I felt like I had really good feel for speed all day. I kept it out of trouble off the tee. So when I do those two things I usually score pretty well.
Q. How confident, how much confidence did you have coming into the week? Did you feel like you were kind of trending in the right direction which adds to some heightened confidence?
JOSEPH BRAMLETT: Yeah, I feel like I've slowly been building all season. I got off to a decent start in the fall and then I carried that over pretty well on the West Coast and had a chance at Pebble.
So I feel like things have just continued to go the right direction. I had two weeks off. I worked really hard on my game. I'm really looking forward to this Florida swing.
Q. Guys like Shane Lowry, they like difficult golf courses. They don't like the 25-, 27-under. Are you a fan of these tougher conditions in Florida with the wind and water and all that?
JOSEPH BRAMLETT: Yeah, I definitely like when the conditions are difficult and guys have to really earn it. I think that's historically always been in my favor. So I really enjoy it. I was really looking forward to getting to this golf course this week.
Q. You hit it a long way. How much are you able to use your strength out here? How many drivers did you hit?
JOSEPH BRAMLETT: I hit a driver on 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 18. Nine?
Q. What about the rough? How many times did you hit it in and how hard is it to get out of the rough?
JOSEPH BRAMLETT: I don't know how many fairways I missed. The rough is maybe couldn't just a hair. You get some squirrely lies in the rough. It's got a lot of grain to it. I think with the overseeded Rye, the Bermuda coming under, it's difficult to gauge. It doesn't look very long, you get some lies that look pretty good, but it's very difficult to predict.
