Quick Quotes
BERNARD LANGER: It was tough. The wind was gusting anywhere from 10 to 25 miles an hour it seemed, so it was hard to grab the right club at the right time, and challenging pin positions at times. Whenever the wind is blowing that strong and you have a little bit of side spin or something or even straight into the wind, I came up a couple of times short, a couple of times long, and the targets are small here, so it punishes you pretty quick.
I didn't hit my irons as close. I still drove it good, but my irons weren't as close. I didn't have the birdie opportunities I had yesterday and kind of showed up on the score.
Q. You took care of the par-5s on the back, a couple of them. That was big. Just trying to produce a score today, it's --
BERNARD LANGER: Yeah, it was the kind of day to hang in there and produce a decent score without making too many mistakes. I did have two dropped shots, I believe, which was painful, but it happens really quick out there because whenever you miss the green, the ball rolls off, and you're usually into the grain chipping from Bermudagrass into the grain, which is not easy.
Q. As this chase for 45 continues, how nice is it to put yourself in just a great position right out of the gate?
BERNARD LANGER: Yeah, it's great to be in contention early in the year, hopefully get some confidence from good playing, and just shows myself that I can still compete and hopefully win some more out here.
Q. It's a great leaderboard; what's the biggest key for you tomorrow to play well?
BERNARD LANGER: To win with this kind of leaderboard, you've got to play a near flawless round of golf, I think. You've got to have a pretty low score, one of the lowest scores tomorrow, and that's got to be my goal.
