Q. Lexi, what a great round of golf. Equalled the course record here, 63. How do you reflect on that?

LEXI THOMPSON: Thank you. It was just overall a solid day out there. I chipped in on No. 1. I guess kind of set the mood. I was just overall steady day. Just tried to stay in the moment, focus on what I did yesterday, because yesterday was a pretty solid round, too.

So just tried to build off that and take it into today. Whatever happened, happened.

Q. Again the wind stayed down for quite a lot of your round. Really have to take advantage of that here.

LEXI THOMPSON: Uh-huh, yeah, you definitely do. Yesterday was very calm in the morning, which I tee'd off in the morning. But today, I mean, we couldn't have asked for better weather.

I don't know if it's supposed to pick up, but wasn't much wind today and the sun was out, so couldn't have asked for anything better.

Q. Golf is about momentum, and you certainly got momentum. You started perhaps a little frustratingly on the first rounds, but since then you've just been getting better and better until today with the course record.

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, thank you. The first day was tough. I struggled hitting it wise. I mean, it was so windy, so it was tough to just stay calm out there, especially if you hit a if you unsolid golf shots. It's hard to really commit in gusting winds of 30 miles per hour.

Just tried to stay positive and I got an even score round out of that, scrambled my way around, and played pretty solid yesterday with 4-under and just tried to take that positivity into the weekend. One more round, so we'll see where that goes.

Q. Lexi, what a round out there today. Different day, different conditions, but you came alive. What was the key?

LEXI THOMPSON: Thank you. It was beautiful conditions out there. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The sun was out. Very little wind. It might pick up a little bit, but nothing too drastic like the first day in the afternoon.

Overall just a very steady day. I just tried to build off yesterday's round. I hit a lot good shots and just tried to take that positive energy into today.

Q. We knew about your distance off the tee, but the putter seemed hot today.

LEXI THOMPSON: Well, thank you. I've been working extremely hard on it. You know, I put in two to three hours a day of doing drills on the putting green, so just been working hard in the off-season on that, just trying to keep my ball striking consistent like it was in the end of last year.

Q. Yeah, two to three hours focusing on putting.

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah.

Q. You're a great putter because you're on the LPGA Tour and you're a proven winner. What is the difference? Is there anything in particular you can pinpoint down to?

LEXI THOMPSON: Not that I can pinpoint it down to. Just overall getting that consistency of stroke, tempo-wise, and just feeling confident. That's what putting really comes down to, get ting that consistent stroke of solid contact and just seeing the ball go in the hole doing the amount of hours that I do with the drills, but you have to bring it out here.

Q. You do. You certainly did today, and you brother was on the bag. Did you have a good chat out there? What do you talk about when you're out there?

LEXI THOMPSON: We always do. We just talk about the most random things or get deep into a conversation that just goes nowhere. But it's amazing. He knows me so well and knows my game probably better than I do because we play together every day back home. I'm very lucky and blessed to have him out here.

Q. Next week you're going to be a bridesmaid, I understand.

LEXI THOMPSON: I am. My best friend is getting married in June but she has a bridal shower next weekend. I'm looking forward to just being there and share that moment with her.
