ARAMCO SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL PRESENTED BY PUBLIC INVESTMENT FUND

February 17, 2023

Albane Valenzuela

King Abdullah Economic City, Saudi Arabia

Royal Greens Golf & Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. Albane, very, very well done. Looks like you might have round of the day here on day two at Saudi. How have you found the first two days of that tournament?

ALBANE VALENZUELA: It's been really fun. I mean, my game was solid and today was definitely challenging in the back nine with the wind, but I just stayed very present. And, I mean, I'm just having a lot of fun; grinded out there.

I think I just enjoyed a little bit lowering my expectations and just trying my best in the conditions. You know, like the ball is just not going to get right bounces and it's going to be tougher out there for everyone.

But it he reminds me a little bit of home in the Bahamas. I practice a little bit in crazy weather sometimes. At least I was wearing a skirt today, which always makes it nice.

But, yeah, very happy with my round. Definitely proud of how I fought today.

Q. What would you say the strongest part of your game has been this week?

ALBANE VALENZUELA: I think I've been pretty solid tee to green, but my iron play has been very solid for quite a few months now, and I feel like it's definitely paying off, the work in the off-season.

Then last week, you know, I think I found a little something in my putting that makes roll a little bit better, switching grips. I think that was a fun part of playing alongside the Tournament of Champions is I got a little bit of pointers from Corey Pavin on the TOUR, and his tip helped me.

And I think I'm getting better speed control, so not making as many mistakes on the green as I could have before.

Q. I was going to say, last week was your debut as a full LET member.

ALBANE VALENZUELA: Uh-huh.

Q. How much fun has it been so far in your two weeks?

ALBANE VALENZUELA: It's been really fun. Last week the course was unbelievable and I thought that the food was great. It was just a really good test of golf and I thought it was a really good way to just see how my game measured against some of the other players and see a little bit -- you come off the off-season and you're a little bit of rusty. You need to get that rust out in competition.

But it was really fun and I loved it, and this week is also really fun. It's so well organized and the course is great. So far so good.
