Quick Quotes
MANON DE ROEY:
Q. Very well done. Excellent second day here in Saudi. Talk me through your front nine, especially what happened with your birdies and your eagle.
MANON DE ROEY: Yeah, I started -- I mean, the front nine was basically no wind so I had to take advantage of that a little bit.
I know I can reach some par-5s. I had some good birdie putts in the beginning, like I birdied my first hole. And then on the 12th, which is also a tough hole with the wind left to right.
The eagle came a bit unexpected. I had I think 177 into the green but I just wanted to be over there. I was in the back of the green and I had like crazy putts, four breaks I think, so I just wanted to get close to the hole.
Then it went in, so, yeah, that was very nice. And I had some good saves as well. I took advantage of the no wind on the front nine, and then I kind of tried to manage myself on the back nine because the wind came up.
I made some great saves again and I birdied the last hole, which is nice.
Q. Always nice to have a birdie to continue the momentum into the weekend.
MANON DE ROEY: Yes.
Q. What are you expecting come the weekend?
MANON DE ROEY: I'm expecting a lot of wind still. There is always wind here on this course. You just have to be patient out there. I just going to create chances for myself, hit some good shots, and, yeah, just roll in some putts.
Q. Obviously three weeks into 2023 season. Or you feeling about your game now?
MANON DE ROEY: Yeah, I think it's getting better every week. The first week was tough in Kenya. I think everyone feels the same way there.
But, yeah, I'm just going to keep working on the things I'm working on and get confidence out of there. So, yeah.
Q. The fact that you've played at this course so many times, and obviously this is your third week in a row, do you think those are two advantages you're trying to use this week, the fact you know the course, that it can be windy, and also your game is continually improving?
MANON DE ROEY: Yeah, I think I can almost call this my home course. I've played here more than my home course the last few years.
No, I think being here couple times is definitely an advantage over the field. Some girls haven't been here. So I think I know the tricks and how to manage to play the course. Yeah, I'm going to use that in my advantage.
