Q. Karolina, how do you feel about that win today, particularly before it got any hotter?

KAROLINA PLISKOVA: No, I mean, that was for sure help not to play outside. And, of course, to finish my match quite early I have some time to recover and to prepare for my next one.

Yeah, I think it was pretty solid for my side. I think she was struggling a little bit with the speed, but overall quite happy with the performance.

Q. How have you been feeling about your preparation generally?

KAROLINA PLISKOVA: Yeah, I mean, of course, the first two weeks were tough. Of course, always the beginning of the year is tough. Especially the tournaments, they were super strong. So you can play players which are on fire, which happened to me.

But, luckily, I won a couple of matches in the quallies, and I feel quite okay. So I think I feel like my level is close to the top where I can play my game, and hopefully I can reach the second week here. That's always the goal in Grand Slam, so let's see.
