Quick Quotes (2)
Q. An in order day of golf and a very, very dramatic climax, you must be feeling thrilled.
VICTOR PEREZ: Feels fantastic. I thought you always need a bit of fortune and there's always the deciding shots coming down the stretch that can make or break. To hole that bunker shot on 17 is probably going to be a highlight for a little bit I hope. I'm not expecting the guys not to do incredible shots but yeah, I was delighted with that, and 6 was enough on 18.
Q. That was the crucial shot, wasn't, it on 17. Talk us through your thoughts on it and how it was executed?
VICTOR PEREZ: I was just trying to fly the ball all the way to the hole and if it came up a bit heavy was probably going it release down to the hole and probably have an 8-footer for par but I was expecting Sebastian to hole his putt for birdie.
In my head, I was going best case scenario, probably one ahead and maybe even going into the last hole and I come up with a two-shot lead which is always massive because you know, the other person is going to have to do something great and you're going to have to do something poor, which I did, but it was enough with a six.
Q. What a way to start the year, and what a big year potentially it could be; you've given yourself a great platform.
VICTOR PEREZ: It's a position that I know I've been in this safely, basically, shoes, 2 1/2 years ago for Whistling Straits. I'm delighted because it's something hopefully I know, I can draw a little bit of experience from it and maybe use it going forward.
