Q. Entering 2023, how is your golf game?

BRIAN BAUMGARTNER: You know, this event is always a little bit tougher for me. Not that all of them go well, because I have not been playing a lot of golf. I'm working on a new project, which is great, and spent the holidays with the family.

But I actually feel like I'm hitting the ball really well. I haven't been scoring terribly great, and I don't even mean that as a joke, but I'm hitting the ball well, and if I can keep that up this week, I can at least do better than I have before here.

Q. This break the glass event was pretty fun. What was it like playing in that?

BRIAN BAUMGARTNER: It was good because again, like that's a perfect example of my golf game right now. Like I hit the ball kind of exactly how I wanted to and was just a little bit off to the side. But in terms of the type of shot I was trying to hit and the trajectory I was trying to hit, I was happy about it.

Q. Have you ever done anything like that before?

BRIAN BAUMGARTNER: So I'll tell you, it's probably been -- you can find it in the archives. Probably about 10 years ago in Lake Tahoe, I did the event, and I didn't know what I was doing. I had pre-planned it. I chunked one, and then on the second one, I released my club, and my club went straight through the glass, like perfect. Everyone went crazy, and it was amazing, and there was high-fiving, and then I looked up and my club was like this hanging on the frame.

They had not sent a truck out for me for a new 6-iron, so I had to play, of course, the rest of the week without a 6-iron. So I was like, oh, the funny guy screws up again.

Q. How much do you look forward to this event?

BRIAN BAUMGARTNER: I love it. I love playing with the players of the LPGA Tour. I have a blast. Anytime I've -- through this event and some others during the year, either with PXG or the tournament in Aviara, I played with a lot of the ladies down there, too, and watching them hit the ball, the consistency is amazing.

I really, really enjoy it.
