Q. How would you assess the golf this week for you?

ADAM SCOTT: It was fairly solid stuff without anything really happening for me. I liked some of the things that I worked on throughout the week and felt like it's in a good spot going forward, that's for sure. Probably just need some practice. I haven't really practiced since before December.

I tried to take a bit of a break and came to Kapalua underdone, and I think I'm just starting to get warmed up now.

But I like -- I can take some good stuff out of these two weeks with where the game is at and kind of a theme for the year going forward maybe.

Q. Where do you go from here?

ADAM SCOTT: I've got a month off. I'll just be at home practicing and relaxing for a little bit, preparing myself for a pretty intense February through August.

Q. You'll return at --

ADAM SCOTT: LA.

Q. Why not Phoenix since it's an elevated event? What's the reason? I know you've got to miss something, I understand that.

ADAM SCOTT: Well, I don't have a good reason for you. The embarrassing reason is I actually thought it went Phoenix, Pebble, LA, so I didn't even consider it from the beginning.

Yeah, I think spending a little time at home in Australia seems too good for me after two and a half years of not going home, so an extra week is nice.

Q. You have obviously a fine line like today where you had a chance, another birdie here or there and you were in the mix, and then you bogeyed 17 and parred 18 and all of a sudden you're 17th or whatever it is. Is that what this is all about now, such a fine line?

ADAM SCOTT: I think it's fine lines. If I was super critical of my game, I'd say I'm underprepared at the moment and need practice in all areas to lift it up to a better level. But the fact of the matter is I'm really only interested in a few weeks a year.

As long as I'm ready for them, the rest is just ticking boxes.

Q. Riviera, is Stevie on the bag there?

ADAM SCOTT: He is, yeah.

Q. Is that kind of exciting? You know you're going to a good golf course, it's a big event, you have Steve on the bag the last month in Australia --

ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, I think generally the whole idea with a job share is that it's always fresh, that whoever you've got out there you haven't seen for a little while, maybe eight weeks or so since they've been on the bag, and then they do a run and someone else comes back and it's all very fresh, and I think it's a good thing at this point in a long career.

Q. Si Woo is doing well and I think he's got a one-shot lead last I looked. Having been a teammate of his, what's your take on purely his golf game, and do you have any fun stories of him from cutting it up in the team room or what have you?

ADAM SCOTT: Well, I think he's got a lot on the inside, and sometimes with guys, and certainly the Asian players, you don't get a real glimpse of what makes them tick. I think Si Woo showed again at the Presidents Cup, if people forgot, he won THE PLAYERS, at a young age, but I think he was one of our best performers at the Presidents Cup, and beating, I think it was Justin Thomas from memory on Sunday in a bit of an epic match.

There's a lot of Si Woo as a golfer, especially on the inside. I think when he's in a position like this, the fire burns hot, and he's going to be hard to beat if he's in the lead I would say.

I don't think Si Woo is an instigator of any shenanigans, but he's certainly happy to participate.
