Q. Welcome back to competitive golf, getting into this new calendar year after the back of that win in Australia, how are you feeling heading into The Hero Cup?

ADRIAN MERONK: Thank you, I spent some quality time back home over Christmas and New Year's. I'm excited to be back and get things going again. It's a great way to start the year with the team competition and I'm very excited about this week.

Q. How much is that win lifting your confidence heading into this new calendar year?

ADRIAN MERONK: A lot. After that win, I received the Masters invitation, so that was special. And just very, very proud and glad it happened. The confidence definitely is much higher than last year.

Q. This week, different type of dynamic with a match play tournament, how much are you looking forward to getting some experience under your belt?

ADRIAN MERONK: I'm looking forward to it. I love match play. We didn't play much over my professional career but I played a little bit as an amateur, as a junior, so I have some experience, and I enjoy it. I think it's a great format, especially playing for a team as well. So it's going to be a lot of fun.

Q. How nice is it to be amongst the continental Europeans this week? A lot of them will be friends already but to be a team, you've all got the same goal in mind?

ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, very nice. We have a really strong team and I'm very happy to be along these players and I'm sure we're going to enjoy the week and everyone is going to do their best.

Q. We do have The Ryder Cup in mind at the end of the year. How much are you using this week as an opportunity to put yourself in the shot window ahead of that?

ADRIAN MERONK: It's a great way to prepare to get some kind of idea what it might look like. Obviously there will be no crowds this week, but being in the team room with everyone, listening to all the captains and the experiences, it was just amazing and I had some goosebumps yesterday watching some highlights from The Ryder Cups over the years. So yeah, it will be super important for me and it will be a dream for me to make the team.
