Q. Welcome to Abu Dhabi after a long trip from Hawaii. How much are you looking forward to this week?

SEAMUS POWER: Thank you, it's great to be here, looking forward to a lot. The trip was long to get here and went smoothly. I got a good night's sleep last night, so I'm good to go. First time in this part of the world. Can't wait.

Q. How much are you looking forward to the opportunity to showcase your match play credentials this week?

SEAMUS POWER: Really looking forward to it. We don't play much obviously anymore. A lot of the stuff we played growing up was match play and it's a different game. Everything just feels a little different.

Obviously my first time being part of a team for a long time so really looking forward to the experience. Even the last day has been a lot of fun, getting to meet fellas I wouldn't have known particularly well. It's been great so far and looking forward to the week.

Q. How has the dynamic with your teammates been over the last 24 hours?

SEAMUS POWER: It's been great. The team room setup has been fantastic. Last night was a little different. Both teams were together. Today we have been kind of separate all day. It's been good, though. I know some of the guys but getting to know some of the other guys.

It really is good. We don't really get many opportunities like this in golf. You're always playing for yourself. So something like this, it's going to be totally different.

Q. You spoke of last night, how nice was it to be with the former Ryder Cup Captains and the stories they were telling?

SEAMUS POWER: It's been incredible. We've been so lucky the last 20, 25 years, with so much success in The Ryder Cup and hearing from those guys that have done it all.

Everyone is hoping to be part of it in September but hearing it from guys that have done it and you've seen do it is special and obviously Paul, being from Ireland, he's a guy we would have followed closely and listening to him and the stories, it was amazing. Very enjoyable night.

Q. Being in the team environment, listening to stories, being around the opposing team as well, how much is that feeling a motivation to make that team in September?

SEAMUS POWER: It's huge. Everyone is delighted to be here but there's the undertone, everybody knows this is a steppingstone to playing in Rome in September. We looked at a couple motivational videos last night and there was a video from Rory and stuff like that.

Talking to any of those guys, I've talked to players that have won and done everything in golf and they will tell you the first tee on The Ryder Cup and the team atmosphere, there's just nothing like it. You hear guys saying that all the stuff they have done around the world and they say their best memories are still Ryder Cup stuff. Hearing that from guys that have done a lot more than me and I'll ever do in golf is amazing, and it makes you want to be part of it so much more.
