Q. How would you assess the first round of 2023?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I played solid. I hit a lot of good shots. Yeah, I gave myself a lot of looks, hit some good putts. I didn't see as many go in as I would have liked to today. But I was hitting good putts, so that's all I can control.

Q. You got to kick off some of the competitive rust a little bit?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah. I played the Bahamas, so a month off, which isn't too long. We had a bit of a busy December with the holidays and Christmas and everything. But, yeah, it was good to shake off some rust. I feel like my game's in a good spot and hopefully I'll improve as the week goes on.

Q. When did you guys get over here?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Sunday.

Q. You have to kind of get acclimated to the time and everything and whatnot?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Honestly, we're trying not to. We're going to sleep at 8 every night, which is great, and just sleeping as long as we can. So actually getting some pretty good rest this week, which is nice.

Q. What is it about this course that kind of suits you very well?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I think it's fun to play. I think you got to get creative out here, hitting a lot of different shots and kind of working your angles around the place and staying out of trouble.
