Q. So first, can you just tell me how it feels to finish the first round under par?

ANITA UWADIA: I actually finished even par.

Q. Oh, okay.

ANITA UWADIA: 71.

Q. Still a good accomplishment in a stressful eight rounds.

ANITA UWADIA: Oh, yeah.

Q. How does it feel to finish even par and be up there in contention?

ANITA UWADIA: Yeah, it's a good way to start off a good round. I mean, I know there is still seven rounds so I got to take it day by day. I'm proud of the way we played, the way we finished.

Granted, it was really cold in the morning, so, you know, it was just a great round, a great way to start.

Again, I know there is a lot of rounds ahead of me so I can't really get ahead of myself.

Q. And then just some generic Epson Tour questions for updating players bios and for LPGA. Did you play college golf? And if so, where?

ANITA UWADIA: I played at University of South Carolina. Go Gamecocks.

Q. Awesome. And then what is your career-best finish or biggest accomplishment in the golf world?

ANITA UWADIA: My career-best finish was 62, 10-under at Epson Tour Championship. I would say that's my career low. I guess I got to play in an LPGA event which was cool just because it got me -- that's obviously where I want to be in the future, so I got a little taste of it, so that was nice.

Q. We went over your career-best round and score, Epson Tour Championship. Why did you decide to pursue professional golf as a career?

ANITA UWADIA: Honestly, I guess it just happened. I don't know. Because I'm from Nigeria and golf isn't really a big thing. My dad just asked me, do you want to go to America to play golf? Honestly all I thought about was like Hannah Montana, I get to have my own locker in like high school.

Like golf was never on my radar because like I never thought you could have a career from golf. I never knew you could go college and have a full ride scholarship, so it never on my radar.

But it just happened, and I'm glad I got to do it because you get to travel and meet a bunch of people. It's a good career path.

Q. What are your hobbies outside of golf?

ANITA UWADIA: I love theatre. If I wasn't winning golf tournaments I would probably be winning Oscars, let's be honest here. (Laughter.)

But I just love outdoor stuff. Kayaking, hiking, anything outdoors. Anything that gets your adrenaline, I love it.
