THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. Lorenzo, congratulations. I mean, that was a gripping match. What was it like to play and to play in front of a crowd and atmosphere like that?

LORENZO SONEGO: I think it was amazing to play here within this atmosphere. Lots of people, Italian people support me. It was good for me, for my tennis. Yeah, that's it.

Q. What do you think allowed you to win the match?

LORENZO SONEGO: I was be more aggressive than two weeks ago. I played him in Paris, and I lost 6-4, 6-4. But today I was really aggressive on my return and on my serve. I served really good on breakpoint and set point.

I think this was the key for today.

Q. Congratulations, Lorenzo. Were you expecting such a loud Italian crowd? Did you feel like almost playing at home today?

LORENZO SONEGO: Yeah, yeah. We are in Malaga, and it's not too far from Italy. Yeah, the atmosphere was really nice today.

Yeah, enjoyed really every moment on court with the crowd and was really, really nice.

Q. Obviously coming into this week, you lost Jannik. Matteo is here but not playing today. Did you feel an extra sense of responsibility?

LORENZO SONEGO: No, I don't think so. I think it was for me a good opportunity for play for Italy, because the Davis Cup is a different tournament and I like to play for our country. It's different. Yeah, all it is.

Q. You just said about Davis Cup being such a different type of tournament. The way you played and won today, how would you rate that with what you have done and the importance of that sort of a result compared to some of the other ones?

LORENZO SONEGO: From my experience, I saw a lot of match in Davis Cup, and yeah, is different. In Torino I lost against Gojo, and today I beat Tiafoe. He's in the top 20 in the world.

It's different, because it's a different tournament and you can do more, you can play with the crowd and, yeah, it's different.
