THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.

Q. A very accomplished win today. What was your assessment of your performance?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: I'm really glad that I started well with a break. All match I held my serve. I was serving well, so yeah, I'm pretty happy with the performance today.

Q. Your second singles win for your country. First time you have played singles since 2019 in this competition.

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Yeah.

Q. How good was it to play for your country again on a stage like this?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Yeah. Honestly from this side I was a little nervous, because as you said, it's been a while I played. I played doubles this year, but it's something a little different.

Yeah. Really, I'm just happy that I shaked it off and I played my game and I brought a point to the team.

Q. You struggled with injury a bit this year and your ranking has sort of suffered. Where are you at physically with your game, do you think?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Well, I'm missing some matches, for sure, some experience from matches. But again, happy I get to play as well here, and I'm trying to play anything I can now when I get in.

Yeah, I always see it that it's getting better and better. We are just working on my game and to get there.

Q. Looking ahead, a tough challenge against the U.S. tomorrow. What do you make of that challenge?

KAROLINA MUCHOVA: Well, first we still have to win today. Karo is playing now. It's going to be tough match. So I think we are focused on this.

Yeah, we have tough group, so for sure it's going to be tough, but we have as well good team and we are going to try our best.
