Quick Quotes
Q. Obviously you guys needed as much as you could give. You gave it a great fight. How would you sum up the day for Punch?
CAMERON SMITH: It was pretty solid. I think we got off to a bit of a rough start there. Leish, I think, doubled his second hole. We were kind of clawing back the whole day. Yeah, we got close there in the end, and all the boys showed some pretty big you-know-what there at the end holing some putts. It was really cool to see, and what better way to finish out a season than that.
Q. It had to be fun; you guys weren't really in the mix early on when you first got in, and to come to the team championship and be right there, it must be gratifying to end the season this way.
CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, I think I've said this before; I feel as though we have a really solid team. We just didn't quite gel this whole year. For some reason or another we had a bad score in there every day. That just showed what quality we are. We'll take that momentum on to next year.
Q. Obviously you kind of have a full season now; how much are you looking forward to 2023?
CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, it'll be good. I think I'm really looking forward to getting home, playing the events down there. I haven't won an Australian Open, so I'll be trying to do that. The round out there today kind of gave me that momentum that I needed heading down there. Yeah, I can't wait for next year. I think it's going to be really exciting.
I think LIV Golf is going to be bigger and better because of this event, and I can't wait for it to start.
Q. This round for you today personally, how good was it? 65 on a tough course --
CAMERON SMITH: 65, yeah. That was probably right up there for me. I feel like I really didn't miss a shot today. I felt like I holed everything.
Typically on an easier golf course, you're looking at somewhere around 60, but not the case out there. It's so demanding and just keeps putting the pressure on. It's a perfect golf course for this event.
