Q. Congratulations on your round. Talk about the day and how you dealt with the weather and everything else.

HIDETO TANIHARA: Well, today my driver from tee shot wasn't really good but the irons and my putting came in and I was able to score pretty well. So that was my whole day.

Q. And also, can you talk about how important this tournament is for your status for next season?

HIDETO TANIHARA: Where I'm at in my season, I would need to maybe win or get a second place this week. So I need to play really well this week.

Q. On the team element, how much have you enjoyed the team concept in LIV Golf?

HIDETO TANIHARA: From last week, the format was 2-2-3 and it changed into 3-3-3. A lot of that changed the whole team aspect. So Team Torque have never been Top 3 at this point, so hopefully we can accomplish that this week.

Q. Can you tell us about a couple of your birdies today which you really felt good about?

HIDETO TANIHARA: I don't have a specific birdie but all in all, I was able to read the greens perfectly, so everything went in and today was a great day for me.

Q. Your thoughts on playing in the conditions here in Saudi and how it compares to normal.

HIDETO TANIHARA: I'm not a long hitter, so playing at this course compared to like last week, it would have played better, and I'm playing with a lot of the top players, and it's not easy to just play anywhere with these guys out here. But with the winds kind of blowing, it is hard, but just today, the numbers were pretty clear and looked pretty right. So played really well this week -- or today.
