Quick Quotes
Q. A 68 at the Old Course but arguably in the conditions probably the best round of your life.
RICHARD MANSELL: Yeah, it's up there. I mean, I can't feel anything in my body right now. It was just gritty. I think I made one bogey on 16 which was obviously into them. You get them few holes into the wind and the rain, and it was just trying to make contact to be honest and just try to keep it out of the bunkers and just get up-and-down.
Yeah, obviously really, really happy with that today, and yeah, not much more to say.
Q. How do you describe those playing conditions? Because at times it was beyond brutal.
RICHARD MANSELL: Yeah, it wasn't golf to be honest. It was just a real big personality thing, and just try and stay positive and stay focused, and caddie did a great job of trying to keep as much dry as we could kind of last seven, eight holes, it was no chance. It was just holding on to the golf club and trying to warm up your hands when you could.
So yeah, like I say, it was just keep it out of trouble, try to keep it out of the gorse bushes and get up-and-down and like you say, we did that really well.
Q. Given the format this week often carries more of a lighthearted, jovial atmosphere, you'll be keen to note how many points are on offer, and you're in a great position going into Carnoustie tomorrow.
RICHARD MANSELL: Yeah, that was it. You saw people talking about which was the best draw to have, and I think with the weather the way it's been, I don't really know what is to be honest. I think you could play a par 3 golf course with no water and anything and it would be really hard today.
So yeah, like I say, I know I'm going to be close to the lead. I don't know what the lead is but just to be in that position is a really good thing. So yeah, still 36 holes to play, obviously Carnoustie tomorrow. I don't know what the weather is going to be.
Q. Very nice.
RICHARD MANSELL: Well that's good. Hopefully we can go and warm up and not have pneumonia for tomorrow and see what tomorrow brings.
