Q. Here with Lexi Thompson. Really solid day today. Just evaluate that round.

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, it was overall very steady. I just stayed patient out there and really just committed to my lines and doing my pre-shot routine and just being confident over every shot and not getting too high or low with whatever shot came with that.

Q. I mean, today it was pretty windy in the morning. Calmed down this afternoon. What adjustments did you have to make even between the practice rounds and today? I know the conditions were way different.

LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I left my hotel this morning just to walk Leo and it was super windy. I heard it was maybe 20, 25 mile per hour. I was definitely expecting to hit a lot of controlled shots, keeping it lower.

Then we got lucky, it kind of died down. But a few practice rounds it was pretty dead, too. So I always expect wind when I come to Texas, so I'm usually practicing the controlled shots on the range.

Q. What did you find out there today that you will carry with you to the next three rounds? Obviously something good; you made a lot of birdies.

LEXI THOMPSON: Thanks. Yeah, just going into the next three days with the same attitude I did today. Staying patient, in the moment, and not getting too far ahead, and committing to my shots. That's all I can do.

Q. Final question: I know it's hard and firm and fast out here and you're a player that really like to go at that golf ball. What adjustments did you have to make off the tee today?

LEXI THOMPSON: Just maybe laying back a little bit. I still hit a few drivers, but take my 3-wood a little bit more around it. But I still want to play this golf course aggressively and give myself as short of a club as I can coming into the greens since they are a little bit firmer.
