Q. Here with Charley Hull after her first round here in Texas. Let's start with that big eagle there on 17. I've only seen a couple there today. Walk me through that.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, so I hit a pretty decent drive. Took a little bit off my drive because the middle bunkers was in play, and hit a nice little rescue into the green about eight feet and holed it up the hill for my eagle.
Q. How was your putting today? I hear the greens are very --
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I felt like my putting was pretty good. I holed some good putts, some clutch putts. Had a nice up and down on the last. I missed probably one putt, but at the end of the day they're quite hard read with the grain, so I'm pretty happy with myself.
Q. How happy are you with that score after seeing this morning's round was pretty high?
CHARLEY HULL: You know what? I actually didn't even look at any of the scores from this morning. I don't really like look at the scoreboards too much. Like off the golf course I'm not really too fussed about golf.
The first time I saw the scoreboard was on the back nine and I was like, oh, I'm up there.
Yeah, it was good. I've been playing a lot of golf all home as well, so feeling like my game is in good shape. Been playing with my friends, so, yeah, it's been great.
Q. Tell me what some of the challenges were out there on the course. I know you didn't have as much wind as this morning, but --
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it was quite windy. I don't suit this grass. I feel like my irons aren't going as far this week. They'll get quite get spinny off the face of this grass because the fairways are quite long, and so are the tee boxes.
So, yeah, it's just getting used to that really.
I didn't actually play the full golf course in the practice rounds. I was too tired so I just played nine and played seven holes on the back nine, so it was first time I saw the 17th and 18th today.
Q. And you eagles it.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, I did.
Q. So that's awesome.
CHARLEY HULL: Yeah, it was good.
Q. Going into tomorrow near the top. Does that change your strategy or --
CHARLEY HULL: It's still early. Got three more days left. Just try to go out there and make plenty of birdies, and if you make a bogey, don't think about it too much and just bounce back.
