Q. How does it feel to now be able to say that you are the co-course record holder at the Home of Golf, the Old Course at St Andrews with a 61?

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: Was I said to my caddie, I didn't feel that I shot a number today. I was having a good round but just five, six, was the way I think of it. But the end of the course was amazing. I holed a few long putts. The game was great but didn't feel I shot 11-under.

Q. What's it like knowing that certainly for the moment, no one has done better than you on this golf course, and how long this place has been here? How does that feel?

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: I mean, I never think I will have the course record in St Andrews, and I think now my name is going to be on this board. So yeah, I'm really happy about this.

But it's only the first round, so I'm also going to stay really focused for the next few days.

Q. Your back nine, 28 strokes, what was the secret to that performance? What did you do really well?

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: As I tell you, I was playing good on the front nine but just didn't make long putt or whatever.

I know that the front nine was easier for me, so with the right-to-left wind. So I was just trying to make some opportunity to myself, and this is what happened. I holed a few long putts that makes the round better.

Q. Incredible 61 here, no less at the Home of Golf, St Andrews. How are you feeling coming off the 18th hole.

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: I'm so happy, the last three holes were really fun and I made long putts. It's amazing. I didn't realise that I have the course record here now and I think it's something I will remember for rest of my life.

Q. Usually when you get a very low score on a card, not much is said, because the other players around you know the situation. Did any of the amateurs have a bit of fun with you knowing what you were doing today?

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: Yeah, you know, I mean, it came so quick because I was playing great on my first nine holes but just 3-under was nice. I felt that I had 5-, 6-under for today. I think I finished like 7-under on the last six holes or something like this, which was amazing, and yeah, I think my partner didn't real realise I shoot 11-under today. He was playing good and I was playing a bit better. We made a good score together. It was great for me but great for them also.

Q. How much do you enjoy the team aspect?

ROMAIN LANGASQUE: It's great to have this event one time a year, great for us and great for them.

You have to be patient because it's kind of a -- the round can be a bit slow, and especially with the weather the next few days. But this is something I like to share a round, too, to smile with them or give them my opinion on some shots.

I really enjoy this and I really look forward to the next three days.
