St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland
Quick Quotes
Q. 66 at St Andrews, are you must be delighted?
RYAN FOX: Yeah, played really nicely today. It's been a while since I felt like that out on the golf course, and saw some putts go in, and it's been a messy last few weeks. My knee, still haven't got my golf clubs from France yet and nice to see something go right on the golf course.
Q. Playing differently than July but how is the format been with playing partners? It's a lot lighter environment.
RYAN FOX: I really enjoy the Pro-Am format. More than a hint of sadness for me this year with my partner of the last few years not being here. But I really enjoy the Pro-Am side of it and had a great partner in Greg out there today. Hopefully we can dodge a bit of weather tomorrow. That's the only thing that's tough about this week. Scotland in late September, early October, you never quite know what you're going to get.
Q. The golf gods haven't smiling on you, Carnoustie in tough conditions but an 8.30 shotgun start, does it make it easier?
RYAN FOX: I don't know to be honest. I haven't looked at the forecast enough. I always felt Carnoustie on a tough day, you can still shoot even par. It's very fair. It's in front of you. It's still hard. But you don't really go backwards.
I always found Kingsbarns the really hard one. There were some really low scores today, and when it's windy and tough, you can shoot 3- or 4-over really quickly and go backwards pretty quickly compared to the rest of the field.
I don't know, it's one of those things, you've just got to -- there's always going to be a bad side of the draw here. Hopefully Carnoustie is not it tomorrow.
