Quick Quotes
Q. Adam, congratulations. Talk about coming back in that match. You got down early, and then all of a sudden you guys turned it on.
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, well, we had to, you know. It was kind of story of the week. Slow starts, at least for me, and they've been tough. But we played a few good holes, and they had a bit of a battle for a couple of holes, and we managed to hang on and we got on top of them and held on.
Any time you get a win against the U.S. team is a really good feeling.
Q. For Hideki, I know a little frustrated with the putter over the first couple of days. What did Adam tell you? What did you tell yourself about your ball striking that it would come through at some point in this match?
HIDEKI MATSUYAMA: To be honest, not my A-game today, but I feel like, you know, Adam was hitting the fairway. So I think my job today was to hit the target. So I think I was able to do that today.
Q. Adam, a much-needed victory for the international team and a point that was well-deserved. What was working so well for this pairing today?
ADAM SCOTT: Well, I drove the ball better. I drove it so poorly for Hideki the first match, I left him with nothing all day. But I straightened that out a bit and, you know, neither of us were feeling great. But we stuck in there and we took advantage of a few good shots and capitalized when they were struggling.
So any victory against the U.S. team has got to be really hard fought, so this feels good.
Q. How important are these afternoon sessions going to be, Hideki, for getting this international team back in contention here?
HIDEKI MATSUYAMA: Yes, it's going to be a big one. We really need this win. So hopefully, we can do that again.
