Quick Quotes
Q. The Americans were up 3 at 7. How were you able to turn the momentum around in this match?
SI WOO KI,: We had a brutal first nine and were kind of nervous, and we don't play much this moment so hard to figure out. We keep trying to keep it tight. We try to keep positive, Cam and me, and then it was great at the end.
Q. You played nervous. Cam, you talked before the match about how nervous you were leading into today. Your second shot on 17 really changed the tide here and gave you guys the lead. What did you see on that shot?
CAM DAVIS: I had a perfect number. It was one of those shots where it was like get out of your way. You've got a flag sitting up there on the green. Just hit it.
That was the first shot of the day that came off exactly as I wanted, and it was a great time for that to happen because we needed that one. One to get ahead for the first time and keep playing positively and aggressively on 18.
It was really cool, felt awesome.
Q. What a great comeback, 2 down going through 14, and then you and Si Woo lit it up there, a couple of birdies, you win the match. Big point for the international team. How pleasing was this to come from behind?
CAM DAVIS: It's always more satisfying when you start off not having your best stuff and then you find a way to turn it around, especially against the caliber of players that are playing here.
I was just really proud of the way I started hitting good shots when it mattered, and I was really proud of the way Soo started getting the putts at perfect speed, and we started getting some.
It was great to see that. Really proud as a team and individually that we managed to get it done.
Q. Si Woo, there were a lot of putts I thought you made that just burned the edge. You were really putting well. They finally started falling late in the round.
SI WOO KIM: Yeah, the first five, six holes I was nervous and hard to have speed control. Trying to keep it tight and trying getting better, better, better. Then finally, like, getting closer and closer. And then finally, it's right time to get in on 16 and 17. Had a great shot with Cam.
Q. The Americans had this match early, but you guys fought back. You won the last four holes. What did it take to flip the script and turn this match around.
CAM DAVIS: Early on, I was just a little shaky and nervous, my first time experiencing this. It took me a little while for me to find my rhythm.
To be honest, for most of the round, we started hitting fairways, green, fairways, greens. Si Woo's putts were just burning the hole over and over again. It was just a matter of time until we got it in.
To be honest, we kept on doing what we were doing. We both got into a place where we started feeling comfortable. Right when it became really important, it started going in. Super, super great feeling.
Q. Si Woo, whenever you win a point, it's great. But when you come from behind and win, is that a little more special?
SI WOO KIM: Yes, definitely. And then we had almost 3 down until No. 10, and then Cam hit a clutch putt, and I think that was the moment.
And then, like, we're trying to keep it tight, like, whatever, we lose or win. And then I think that's the -- that mindset of what it felt the last three, four holes.
