THE MODERATOR: Well start with questions in English.
Francisco, I guess really upset with this defeat and Argentina out of the Davis Cup Finals, but how was your overall experience at this competition, or is it too difficult to assess today?
FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO: Yes, I'm really upset. I mean, everyone tells me that I played two good matches, but really, I don't care. The only thing that important here is if you win, and I couldn't win, so I couldn't get a point for the team, I couldn't give a chance to the guys in the doubles to play at 1-All.
I don't know. Maybe in some days I will see the positive thing of these two matches and this week, but yeah, besides the matches, it was a really good week, really great experience. I always wanted to be here. I'm really glad with the team, captains, and other staff and all the crowd that supported me and my teammates during this whole week.
THE MODERATOR: What was the key of the match today? What made the difference?
FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO: I don't know. I think he played really good. He served pretty well, and he was really solid, almost miss some balls in the whole match.
I don't know. I could have won the second set. I was 5-3. I had a volley easy and I miss it.
But, yeah, it was, I don't know, two, three balls that he made, I don't know, an ace or a serve, was serve and forehand, and I miss one backhand and that's all. You lose the match.
Yeah, he played really solid. I tried to be more aggressive and be patient. But yeah, if I won that second set, maybe in the third, I don't know, I could have a chance, and, yeah, I think he earned it. Really close match.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. You had great chance in the second set on 5-3, that volley out. What did you think?
FRANCISCO CERUNDOLO: Yeah, I already said that if I had made that volley, I was going to be 6-3 up in the second set and have three set points but I miss it. In tennis, if you miss, you lose. If you made it, I win.
I don't have an analysis to that volley. Just I knew that I had to go to that volley, and I miss it. That's all.
