THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. A wild 24 hours. You beat the world No. 1, crazy turnaround in the doubles match, then clinch the winning point to put Canada through to Malaga. How does it feel?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: It feels great. I'm really happy. Super relieved. It's the best feeling, not only to win, like you said, important wins for myself, the win in singles yesterday, again today against a difficult player I've lost to once this year.
To come out and play this way, get the win, it's very good for me personally. I'm just really happy for the team.
At the end of the day, I come in with a bit of weight on my shoulders, trying to win, trying to get the win for Canada. At the end it's all worth it. All the moments are worth it.
I'm really happy. I'm really happy for the team, yeah.
Q. In the pre-event press conference, you were asked about playing Carlos. You said it would be a chance for you to test your level.
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah.
Q. It looks like your level is pretty high. How do you rate the way you're playing right now?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: No, I'm playing these last two matches, even the first one to be honest, I was playing great in the first set. Won the first 12 points. Kwon played amazing that day, to be honest.
I feel this whole event my level has been really good. I played well in doubles. I'm really happy where my game is at. I've been able to bounce back well from the US Open. I feel like my game is on the right track.
That's how it's been this year. Overall with a few bad losses here and there, I've played really good this year. I'm happy with where my game is at.
Hopefully I can keep that going towards coming into the end of the season to be able to clinch one of my other objectives, which is to be in the last eight in Turin. That would be a perfect ending to a great season.
Q. Back to last night, Spain served 5-4.
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah.
Q. How can you explain or describe...
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: It's tough to explain. We were just saying in the locker with the team how close it was. But I think it's also due to how difficult the group was. We have probably some of the best two teams, Spain being probably one of the best teams in history, and then Serbia, which is a big team as well, and us, and Korea who also played well in singles and doubles.
It's been a very tough group, a very tough week. I think at the end of the day it's normal you have matches played like this on a coin toss almost. We came back twice in doubles against Korea and Spain, from a break down in the third set. Last night was epic.
Again, we just believe until the very end. I think you lose probably 95% of these matches if you're put in that situation. That 5% went our way yesterday and I'm really happy that we were able to push each other, the team pushing us, until the end to win the last three games.
Q. How do you feel as the No. 1 of your country to win in two consecutive days massive wins?
FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME: Yeah, the last two days have been great for me. I played a fantastic match with Carlos. He was also playing at a good level. I think we both pushed each other and made this match a really good one.
To come out and to push ourselves in the doubles, even though it was late at night, I was a bit tired, but to push myself, I think it was all worth it now because the emotions are really good for myself and the whole team.
It's very nice to see a smile on everybody's face, make the team happy and proud. That's what I came here to do. I'm really happy that I came and played with the level I did to get Canada through the quarters.
