Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Andrea Lee coming off her third round here at the AmazingCre Portland Classic. You got off to a pretty good start. Birdie right off the bat. Just all pars and a couple birdies on the front nine. What was working so well about the front nine and how did you get off to that good start?
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, I think this week so far I've been playing the front nine pretty well. Just birdieing one of the par-5s each day and just getting pars and making the putts that I can.
Got a nice one on No. 9. Probably about like a 35-footer, so that kind of kick started the momentum into the back nine. Yeah, just overall really solid today.
I'm happy with the way I played.
Q. How important is it to take advantage of those birdie opportunities out there and to score low to be in contention here?
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, a lot of the girls are just dropping bombs and making so many birdies out there. I think the par-5s, you definitely need to take advantage of those to go low.
The greens are just really smooth, so just good strokes you'll probably have a good chance of make the birdie putts.
Yeah, overall just really happy and excited for the weekend.
Q. Are you someone who keeps an eye on the leaderboard and uses it to motivate you, or do you just ignore it?
ANDREA LEE: I kind of like to look at the leaderboard just to know where I am. Doesn't affect me at all, but if I'm in contention, like let's say tomorrow and I need to make a birdie or something coming in, I'll look at it and try to play a little bit more aggressive.
But, yeah, just try not to focus on what other girls are doing and just play my own game.
Q. What's the strategy going into tomorrow being in the lead group? Are you going to keep it aggressive and just try and hit those birdies or going to play a little safer?
ANDREA LEE: Depends on the hole. Kind of tight, tucked pins I'll probably play a little bit more safe.
If I can attack, I'll attack. Yeah, just going to try and stay really patient and not try to force things to happen tomorrow.
You know, if I come out with a win, great. If not, otherwise it'll be just another great experience for me and another good week under my belt.
Q. What is it you think about Columbia Edgewater that has been suiting your game so well this week?
ANDREA LEE: Yeah, I love the golf course. I'm not like the longest player on tour, so I think it's one of the shorter courses we play out here. I think that's definitely played to my strengths.
Greens are rolling really nice, and I think I'm rolling the ball really well this week. Just hitting really good shots into the greens. Had a lot of putts for birdie within five feet, so that's made it a little bit easier to score.
So, hopefully I'll have a couple of those tomorrow and see how it goes.
