Q. All right, here we are after your first round in the AmazingCre Portland Classic. Let's talk about that last shot right there. You were a little short of the green. Can you just tell me your thought process behind that little chip shot that went in. You holed out. And what club you were using, stuff like that.

AYAKA FURUE: I was trying to get it close but I'm thankful it went in.

Q. Yeah, me too. So that puts you like near the top spot. Does that give you more confidence or change your game plan going into tomorrow?

AYAKA FURUE: Just keep concentrating and try to shoot under par once again.

Q. Yeah. I want to know what some of the challenges were out there on the course today and what's easier, what's harder?

AYAKA FURUE: The greens dried up pretty good and I had a hard time adjusting to the hardness of the greens; I had a little difficulty with that.

Q. Right. You and everyone else. Looking at the leaderboard and seeing someone like Hinako and Ayako sitting above you, Japanese players like yourself, does that give you more confidence out here, or does that make you feel particularly happy, excited?

AYAKA FURUE: I'm very happy to see Japanese names up at the top, and hopefully I can stay up with them the momentum.

Q. Do you interact with them? Do you know them personally or talk to them at all?

AYAKA FURUE: Yeah. When I see them I talk to them. I know them well.
