Q. First round in the books. Bogey-free. What were some of the easier parts of the golf course out there and maybe some the challenges?

ADITI ASHOK: I think the fresh greens in the morning usually help with the good reads and stuff.

Yeah, that was kind of easy. Still feel like I missed a few putts out there. Yeah, if you look at it, it always feels like short golf course and scoring goes low, but I feel it's kind of a tricky course. You got to hit every fairway and some of those are narrow, and even some of the green, some of them are really tiny.

So, yeah, that's what I was focusing on today, just hitting fairways and greens.

Q. We know that green speed is up there today.

ADITI ASHOK: Yeah.

Q. How do you manage that challenge?

ADITI ASHOK: Yeah, it's actually -- I enjoy fast greens, and the faster the greens are I think the better that I putt.

I actually putted really good today. Just missed like a few -- like one six-footer, but think the rest were all really good putts.

Yeah, I enjoy playing on fast greens. I wish every week had greens like this.

Q. Yeah, the course is really great here. Have you ever been here before or to Portland? What do you think of this event?

ADITI ASHOK: Yeah, I've played it -- except 2020 I think I've played it four times. So, yeah, I played this course three times. This is my fourth time at Columbia Edgewater. It's an amazing golf course.

I grew up on courses that are tree lined, and this is kind of like that, so this suits my eye, too.

Yeah, just the greens, I think the greens, putting on them is hard, too, because they're fast. I think hitting close to the pin is hard, too, because they're pretty firm out there, even though it hasn't -- I think it's been kind of hot here, too, which is why the greens are kind of hard.

Yeah, that's tougher part for me.

Q. Got an early start today. How important was it to get off to a good start and what are you looking to carry into tomorrow?

ADITI ASHOK: Yeah, I think even last week I got off to a good start, so it's good to do that again. I think this week try to hit more greens has been helping me so far; just keeps the errors out of play.

So that's what I'm going to keep doing tomorrow, too. Yeah, it's good to have a good first round. You can think about making more birdies.
