THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. How would you rate your performance today?

TALLON GRIEKSPOOR: Well, I think till 6-1, 2-0 I did really well. I felt even after I did the right things. The results of the shots were not the same as before.

I still went for it at 3-All in the break points, but it just didn't go my way. Didn't play too good on the big points. Regrouped myself in the beginning of the third. Served really well in the third.

Really tricky opponent. Obvious. We all know this. We played Kazakhstan recently two times, we all had a lot of problems with Mikhail. Really happy to win this one and put the team at 1-0.

Q. You've been in a few of these ties now. Is it tough to play the first match of the whole week really?

TALLON GRIEKSPOOR: Yeah, a little bit of nerves, like always. I think all the other times I played second singles, so that was different. This was the first time I started. So, yeah, a little bit of nerves.

First game after it was fine. Yeah, played well. Tough court to play on, slow. I think it fits his game really well. Yeah, tried to do my thing. Served well in the end. Like I said, really happy with the win.

Q. You left the court after the second set. What did you tell yourself before you came back?

TALLON GRIEKSPOOR: Well, I was basically doing the right things even though it didn't go my way. So, yeah, just put the right energy in there every point, try to focus on your own serve and the chances will come on his serve.

I think I was close on his serve every game in the second set. I think I was 15-30 every game. I knew my chances were going to come, but it's never easy after that second set.

But, yeah, happy with how I handled it mentally and physically as well in the end.
