Q. We are joined by JoAnne Carner. How did it go out there today?

JOANNE CARNER: Awful. Started right off, hit a tee shot straight right into the rough, and it really never got better. I just never found the slot all day.

Q. You had a putt there at the end to shoot your age, which you did. Everyone gets very excited about that. Do you get excited about that?

JOANNE CARNER: I didn't realize that I needed to make a bogey to do it. I wasn't thinking about that. I was trying -- every shot I hit on that hole was terrible.

Q. How about your birdie on 15?

JOANNE CARNER: Oh, I loved that. You know, it's nice not to get skunked, as we say, and make one birdie. I had an opportunity on the next hole, too.

You know, I just never hit a good shot. That was one of the few.

Q. How are you feeling physically?

JOANNE CARNER: I feel fine.

Q. Will you go to the range?

JOANNE CARNER: Oh, yeah. Yeah.

Q. What are you going to work on?

JOANNE CARNER: Everything. Well, I've got to get the driver going. But the whole swing was basically off. I wasn't driving into it, I was firing and falling back, ducking into it.

Q. What do you love so much about competition?

JOANNE CARNER: I just love everything about it. I was always happy to go play by myself. If you miss a green, can you make the recovery shot.

I played a lot of really good recovery shots, but where the pins were, you really had -- if you missed it on the wrong side, you had no chance.

Q. I'm sure you remember obviously the first senior women's event was back in 1987. Marilynn Smith scraped that together. Coming forward to 2022, obviously you've seen your fair share of senior women's events. What does it mean to be able to play in things like that and still tee it up with these ladies?

JOANNE CARNER: Well, you know, it's fun, and I know if I could get that slot, I can play fairly well. But when I'm off, that's when the 83 shows up.

Q. If you find the slot, what would be a good round?

JOANNE CARNER: 2-, 3-over.
