Quick Quotes
Q. Collin, what was the biggest difference between yesterday and today?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Hitting fairways. Yesterday I think I luckily somehow hit four come 18 holes, and today I hit definitely a lot more and playing a little more out of the fairway. Just a small little fix at the end of the round and hopefully we'll keep that for tomorrow and it sticks with it.
Q. Can you share what that small fix was?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, I mean, I don't want to jinx it. It's pretty much just how I get through the ball. That's all it is. It was only with the woods. I thought I hit my irons great yesterday. The game feels good. It was nice to piece kind of everything together today.
Q. Obviously this puts you right in the mix, obviously a lot of golf still to be played. What's a big key for you tomorrow to keep yourself in contention, hopefully be able to take the trophy home?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: I think stay patient. I think with how dry and how bouncy these greens are getting, take advantage when you are in the fairway and you do have a good angle and a good number. But just be patient.
Obviously a lot of good rounds I think out here have gotten off to good starts at the beginning of the round, and that's key, but if it doesn't happen it doesn't mean you can't make birdies on say 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. It's been a while since -- hopefully I'll be within a few of the lead tomorrow, and I look forward to that. I'm excited.
Q. I know it's been a little while, but those juices get flowing and you kind of feel that adrenaline again pretty easily?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah. But I think I did a good job just kind of maintaining and finding that balance, right, of just focusing on the shot rather than focusing on what could happen on 18.
I think the name of the game tomorrow is going to be stay present, and if I can do that, I'll hopefully give myself a good shot at winning this tournament.
