Q. How would you characterize the round today?

SCOTT STALLINGS: Solid. I did a really good job kind of keeping the ball in front of me. I hit a bad drive on 8 and kind of took my medicine, wedged out of the bunker and hit a wedge shot to 10 feet and made it. Capped off the front with a nice birdie on 9.

I drove it great on the back. Just kind of every wedge shot was just a little bit long, a little bit short, just not really as tight as I was on the front. Not disappointed, but obviously happy with my score, but the way I played I definitely felt like I left a few out there.

Q. Do you feel as the season has gone along your game as gotten stronger as we come to the end of the year?

SCOTT STALLINGS: I guess. I feel comfortable with what I'm doing tee to green and just continuing down the path that I've set, and happy in the position I'm in after two days and looking forward to the next two.

Q. Do you keep in the back of your mind what you need to do to get to East Lake?

SCOTT STALLINGS: No. I mean, because whatever I was 10 minutes ago has probably changed now. I kind of do what I do and hopefully make the change on my own and hopefully that will be enough. But we've got two more days of golf in front of us, but happy with the way I handled the last couple.

Q. A lot of guys talk about good golf takes care of the rest. Is that how you feel about it?

SCOTT STALLINGS: Yeah, the fluctuations are by the second out there. You feel like if I'm in this position, then that'll be good enough, and then you look up there and what you thought was good enough is not, and then what you thought wasn't good enough was. You can drive yourself crazy all throughout and go out there -- especially when you get caught up in those kind of things. It doesn't take very much to be off out there to make some bogeys pretty fast. So just focus on that, and the rest of that will hopefully take care of itself.
