Quick Quotes
Q. You came up just short of the ultimate goal but you had a heck of a run. What are your takeaways from this week?
NICHOLAS GROSS: All positive. I had the time of my life here, just playing this deep into the tournament. It's my first Am, and it was a hell of a ride.
No, just positives. I played against some of the top ams in the world, and I was able to get into the quarterfinals, which eight people get to do out of 312, so it's pretty special, something I'll remember forever.
Q. You're the youngest to make it to the quarterfinals since 2007 and the third youngest since Bobby Jones back in the '30s. Were you aware of that and what does it mean to you?
NICHOLAS GROSS: I wasn't aware of it until last night when I talked to some other people. But when I was told that, I was kind of in shock, didn't know what to say. Obviously CT is a great player, and Bobby Jones is even next three or four levels above him.
Q. Did you know you would have been the youngest ever to make it to the semifinals?
NICHOLAS GROSS: I did not know that. Wishing I could have done that. But it is what it is. It was still an amazing week.
Q. As far as the round out there today, just didn't seem like you had your "A" game. What wasn't working for you, I guess?
NICHOLAS GROSS: I mean, today I just couldn't get the ball in the or on the green as consistently as I needed to to beat Dylan, because he was doing it at a high clip, and I just had kind of a pull draw going. I couldn't really get it to start out of the window I wanted, and I was just missing greens, missing fairways and putting myself in rough spots. I actually did well a few times to make some putts and save a par, make a birdie or something. But I just didn't hit the ball well enough to put myself in good spots.
