Q. How would you characterize the round today?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I felt like I scored really well today. I didn't hit it my best, but I scored pretty well. I made some key putts and some good up-and-downs.

Q. How hard is it sometimes when you're maybe not swinging your best to keep focused and make sure -- those grind-it-out rounds, how important are those?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I had a really good attitude today. I had a good game plan for each shot. I think that's really important. Sometimes when you're not swinging it well it's hard to see your shot, just visually, just because you're not 100 percent sure where that ball is going to go. So it can be challenging, but I fought pretty hard today.

Q. Is it tough when you're having one of those days on a course that's brand new to you?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Brand new, and it's really long. I think when the golf courses get longer like this, if you miss fairways off the tee, you're in heavy rough and you can't get there in two, but if you hit the fairway, it's a huge difference. There's still birdie opportunities. Anytime I got in the fairway, I was trying to be aggressive, and I felt like I took advantage of those times.
