Quick Quotes
Q. Wow, pretty sure you beat the LET course record. I mean, 11-under. Three eagles. I mean, what can you say about that? Tell me.
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah, no, it was an awesome round. We had a great vibe in the group, so I was really relaxed. It was probably the first round I've played in about three weeks that wasn't, you know, 20-mile-an-hour so just to be able to settle into the golf course.
Yeah, I've never made three eagles in a round, so I am definitely going to remember this one.
Q. In some ways it's a silly question, but I have to ask: What went so well for you out there? I mean, was it one of those days where every single aspect of your game was just working?
JESSICA KORDA: I mean, not really. I still made a bogey. Hit it into the hazard, so I wouldn't say so. I was just keeping it in play and giving myself opportunities, and converting a lot of those. Last month and change I think I just haven't been converting any putts.
The floodgates opened today, and hopefully continue tomorrow. You never know, so that's the beauty of golf.
Q. Clearly this is a format you enjoy; done well before out in New York, and your team as well. Really was a perfect day all round, wasn't it?
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah, like I said, we had a really good vibe and so we just kept it really loose out there. I know the girls of a little bit nervous at the beginning, but I told them there was really nothing to be nervous about.
Just go out there, have fun, and play some golf. We're in Spain. It's beautiful, beautiful weather. Definitely lucky to be here.
Q. The scary thing is you said you're not feeling the best this week physically. Imagine if you were. Imagine what you would've shot then.
JESSICA KORDA: You never know. Maybe this is a good sign. Maybe if I was playing physically well, who knows what would've happened. Probably over par. (Laughter.)
Q. Well we look forward to seeing what you do tomorrow, but very, very well played today. It's been a pleasure watching you. Congratulations.
JESSICA KORDA: Thank you.
Q. Is that the lowest round of your professional career?
JESSICA KORDA: We were just talking about it. I shot 60 at -- what was it?
Q. 60.
JESSICA KORDA: But par of 71? We can't remember what par was. So probably around the same, yeah. Yeah.
Q. So kind of equals your low pro round?
JESSICA KORDA: Yeah, I mean, these rounds are spectacular and you cherish every single one that you have. Just when things go right, they go right.
Q. And was there any huge putts? We missed the first nine because it wasn't televised. Is there anything we should remember?
JESSICA KORDA: The eagle on 6, was that a par-5? 6, yeah, the eagle putt on 6 was quite long and it got perfect speed right in the heart, so that was really like the only long putt I made.
