Q. 3-under, put yourself in great position going into tomorrow. What was working out there for you today?

HAZEN NEWMAN: I putted pretty well. I felt like I did everything good and just kept a level head and made a lot of putts. It's good to watch the ball go in the cup.

Q. You had a lot of putts. You still played well, hit the ball well. What about this course fits your eye?

HAZEN NEWMAN: You know, it's just right in front of you. You can see the shape of the holes, so it's nice to be able to shape it with the hole.

Q. Obviously you played a practice round at Arcola, I assume. What are you expecting going into tomorrow?

HAZEN NEWMAN: I tee off in the afternoon, so I'm sure it will be windier than it was this morning, but the fairways are a little bit wider, but still got to go play good golf. It's not an easy course. It's not a pushover course. Just got to go do the same thing tomorrow.

Q. A lot of chatter about your group this week as far as the Seinfeld references go. Have you ever seen the show? Were you aware of it when the tee times came out?

HAZEN NEWMAN: No, I saw the tee times like a week ago when they first sent them, and I didn't think anything of it until like two days ago Golf Digest posted something and I had friends and family sending me stuff. I got the joke after that, yeah.
