Quick Quotes
Q. So what a week. I mean, almost there, but your best result in a major.
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, I think I played very consistent, especially the last two days. Seven birdies, no bogeys. I hit I think 18 greens, 17 if you count the last one.
I mean, I think it's a great week. Was really close and I thought I could have done it, but my putting, it just didn't go the way I wanted.
Still a great week. I mean, third in a major championship is always a good week.
Q. You were saying a little bit the par-5s too were kind of the frustrating; that's why have to do some work.
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, yeah, the par-5s, I mean, it's not easy because some of the tee shots you have to hit draws and I'm more comfortable with a fade.
Then, yeah, between 15 and 18 I only made one birdie, and I mean, 18 is almost a par-4; 1-under there should be better than that.
Q. I mean, we talked about this a little bit this week, but there has been a big change with you over the last three months, in your golf, personally, and everything. Can you talk a little bit about that?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, I think I've been on tour for a few years now, so I think experience is a big thing. I believe in my team, I believe in my caddie, I believe in myself, I believe in my coach.
I think I have a great team around me.
It's just hard work. I work really hard every day to try to win golf championships.
Q. ...in your personal life and daily life and on the golf course?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, I mean, I really like the adrenaline, being up there at the top. I think to be there requires lots of hard work, lots of, yeah, hours hitting balls and practicing and not being able to do other things.
I mean, I'm happy. I'm happy with my life, with what I'm doing. Nice to be in Europe for a few weeks. I can't complain.
Q. Now completely different scenario, two links, one after the other. How much do you like the links? How much do you look forward to the British Open?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, I mean, I love playing, yeah, like British Open. I think it's one of my favorite. If you told me like one major to win, obviously any one, but the British Open is the one I want to win because it's in Europe and it's the oldest and it's just the tradition, the history.
And, I mean, I love playing the British Open. More creative with the wind of low shots. You have to use your imagination a little bit more, so I like that.
So hopefully I can get a good warmup next week and then be ready for The Open.
